Each day since it first opened its doors, the Black Forest Inn restaurant has prepared homemade German food with the freshest of ingredients. Favorites include bratwurst, spaetzel, breads, and pastries. But for those of us who are a bit more adventurous in our eating choices, we recommend the lesser-known bombshell Nieren, which are veal kidneys sautéed with a dash of balsamic vinegar and served in a sour cream brown sauce, served with spaetzel and red cabbage. As Angus was born one day before the opening of this restaurant, he makes it a point each year to celebrate their concurrent birthdays by treating himself to this lip-smacking delicacy.
